“Food, a topic we are so passionate about, can be your friend. It can help you on your journey to better health. It can heal you. And it can make you happy. ”

– Chichi Barba

Discovering Health in Your Own Kitchen

Chichi Barba is a traditional Filipino healing advocate. Specializing in traditional Filipino healing and nutritional wellness, Chichi guides individuals toward simple, sustainable lifestyle changes. She is the author of multiple books on food and wellness and shares simple Filipino health practices that can help fight illnesses and become healthier with food through her newsletters, podcasts, and occasional speaking engagements.

She has just finished working on two new books—one on health and diet (The Everyday Plate) and another chronicling her personal health journey and the insights she gained (What Will I Eat?). Her previous works include Eat Well, Get Well (Find Out How Ordinary Food Can Heal You), and When Food Bites, a book she co-authored with agroentrepreneur Rudy Mallari.

Chichi is a SHEM (Self-Health Empowerment Movement) practitioner and occasionally joins Dr. Romy Paredes in supporting individuals ready to embark on their own healing and transformation. She also volunteers with NGOs advocating for sustainable agriculture and food sovereignty. She has trained under renowned Filipino albularyo Bibiano Fajardo, PhD (AM) in Traditional Filipino Healing through the Association of Traditional Health Aid Givers, Inc. (ATHAG Inc.). Chichi is also a certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming Master Practitioner through the Lead More Development Center under Jojo Apolo.

Chichi Barba lives in Manila, Philippines. Alongside her advocacy and authorship, she maintains a career in IT, freelances as a writer, and cares for her family. In her free time, she enjoys exploring local markets for native ingredients and promoting food sovereignty.
