Discovering Health in Your Own Kitchen
Chichi Barba is a traditional Filipino healing advocate. She is the author of the book Eat Well, Get Well (Find Out How Ordinary Food Can Heal You). Recently, she co-authored a book with agro-entrepreneur Rudy Mallari titled, When Food Bites.
Chichi shares simple Filipino health practices that can help fight illnesses and become healthier with food. She doe this through her writings, podcasts and seminars, and during one-on-one consultations.
Chichi is a SHEM (Self-Health Empowerment Movement) practitioner, and occasionally joins Dr. Romy Paredes in supporting individuals ready to embark on their own healing and transformation. She has trained under renowned Filipino albularyo Bibiano Fajardo, PhD (AM) in Traditional Filipino Healing through the Association of Traditional Health Aid Givers, Inc. (ATHAG Inc.) Chichi is also a certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming Master Practitioner through the Lead More Development Center under Jojo Apolo.
Chichi’s “training” started in remote towns and villages in the Philippines, before the wooden fires and earthen pots of various Nanay’s (mothers). In these far-off places where doctors or hospitals are far away, she learned traditional Filipino healing practices that almost always revolved around food.
Chichi lives in Manila, Philippines with her family. She is also a freelance writer and researcher for various Non-Government Organizations and private Companies.
